“The labelling lets our team work in a very convenient, faster way and reduces human error — because the platform calculates the expiry date and there’s no handwriting anymore.”
— Narupol Klongsungson, Facilities & Sustainability Manager, The Food School
The challenge
At The Food School, food safety and sustainability aren’t afterthoughts — they’re core to the school’s philosophy and culture. Operating across three floors at Samyan Market near Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, the school runs a ground-floor food hall open to the public alongside second and third-floor cooking classes for Thai, Japanese, and Italian cuisine.
With a diverse mix of students, instructors, and daily kitchen operations to manage, the team faced a familiar but persistent problem: paper-based processes. Handwritten food labels were prone to human error, checklist management was slow and burdensome, and keeping pace with the school’s sustainability goals was difficult with manual systems in place.
The solution
The Food School implemented Squizify’s digital food safety platform, bringing together digital hygiene checklists, automated label printing, and a system accessible across mobile phones, tablets, and computers.
Squizify’s label printing instantly won over the kitchen team: the platform automatically calculates expiry dates and prints labels in seconds — no handwriting required. For hygiene management, instructors and students now complete their daily checklists using digital writing pads, reducing friction in a hands-on learning environment where time is at a premium.
The ability to check and manage food safety records from any device also gave the team new flexibility, whether on the kitchen floor, in a classroom, or at a management level reviewing compliance across the building.
The results
Students adapted quickly. The platform’s ease of use meant the learning curve was minimal — as Narupol put it, the team found Squizify “really easy to connect with,” and students learned faster as a result. Daily checklists are now completed digitally, giving both students and instructors more time to focus on what matters: cooking.
For the school’s leadership, Squizify aligned directly with the owner’s vision for sustainability within the organisation — moving away from paper, reducing waste, and embedding best practices into everyday operations.
They really like this platform because it saves time and reduces human burden. Almost all the students, they really learn faster because Squizify is really easy to connect with this platform. They really like this platform because it saves time and reduces human burden.
Our daily work will be a bit more difficult [without Squizify] because we will be back to the abandoned basis. It feels like we would have trouble and our work operation will be difficult to manage
